- Pre-camp Orientation: June 8 – June 17
- Full Session: June 17 – August 8
- First Session: June 17 – July 12
- Second Session: July 14 – August 8
- Visiting Weekend: July 12 – July 13

Cabin Counselors
Cabin Counselors are enthusiastic, nurturing individuals who live with and care for a group of campers and are assigned to various activities throughout the day. Cabin counselors are fun-loving, spirited, responsible and conscientious. They must have patience, compassion, fairness, great listening skills and the ability to relate to kids. We look for applicants who have some experience working with children. The minimum age to be a Cabin Counselor is having completed freshman year in college.
Each Summer, we hire counselors who can “teach or work in” the following activities:

Division Heads
Division Heads are counselors within the division, they lead and are direct supervisors of the campers and counselors. They are responsible for keeping everything running smoothly in their division. Division Heads maintain an open line of communication and support the emotional/physical health for all. They help set the overall positive tone ensuring a welcoming environment for everyone. Division Heads also teach activities during the day.
Division Heads are older college students or college graduates with experience in summer camping, youth work or education.
Program Specialists
Program Specialists are individuals who have expertise in a specific activity, and work full-time in that program area. Some specialists live in staff housing and some live in cabins with campers. Specialists who do not live with campers will have additional evening responsibilities and will assist with the planning of some all-camp activities and special events. Applicants must demonstrate a strong aptitude in their specialty area and must have experience teaching/coaching children.
Health Center Staff
Camp Horseshoe has 3 full-time RNs on staff. Nurses must be licensed RN’s who love and understand children, have excellent communication skills, and are licensed in Wisconsin (we can assist with this process).
Support Staff
Support Staff are critical to the functioning of camp and are a crucial part of the camp community. Jobs in this area include working in Food Service, Maintenance, Office, and Transportation.
