First-time campers often mean first-time camp parents, and at Horseshoe, we love both!
Camp Horseshoe is the ultimate place for new campers because they are the future “Heart of Horseshoe” and we want them to know it!
First-time campers and families begin their journey to “The Shoe” before they ever step foot on the bus with information, reunions and new camper orientations. Once at camp, they will participate in first-week cabin nights, name games and icebreaker activities, and perhaps the most important, Big Brother introductions. Each new camper is matched up with a Big Brother the first night of camp. Big Brothers are the oldest campers who know Horseshoe (ALMOST) as well as the counselors. Throughout the first week of camp, and all summer long, Big Brothers play a Big role in making sure your camper not only adjusts but excels in his time at Horsheshoe. They will take your son on a personal tour of camp, introduce him to other campers, spend time with each other learning the camp cheers and so much more, all to ensure he is comfortable and feels that all-important sense of belonging right off the bat.
So no matter your concern, rest assured we’ve got you and your camper covered! Need a buddy for the bus? Let us know. Want your son to try new activities, both individual and team? You got it. Have a picky eater? We promise, he won’t go hungry! Worried about homesickness? We’re trained and experienced to make sure each camper is fully immersed and engaged from Day One so there’s no need to worry!
Horseshoe provides the perfect balance of daily activities and adventure, balanced and delicious meals, energetic and experienced counselors who have a passion for camp, and special events and evening programming that bring everyone together in spirit, competition and friendship. Your child will come to Horseshoe hoping for a good summer, and will return home to you with the best statement you can hear…”I can’t wait for next year!”
So pack your kids with plenty of stationery – they’ll want to share their enthusiasm for camp with you, and don’t forget to check out the testimonials from parents and campers alike, and the photo gallery that shows Horseshoe Smiles — those tell the real story!
